Abstract

601,828. Centrifugal and axial flow fans. JENNINGS, H. W. K. (Sturtevant Co., B. F.). Oct. 4, 1945, No. 25868. [Class 110 (i)] Angularly adjustable inlet or outlet guide vanes for an axial flow fan, or inlet guide vanes for a centrifugal fan, are carried by shafts supported wholly on the radially outer end of the vanes. The guide vanes 13 are carried by shafts 18, mounted in bearings in the concentric walls A, B, which carry cable pulleys 21. Between these pulleys are idler pulleys 28 revolving on shafts 30 secured to the inner wall B. A cable passes around all the pulleys and is attached at one point to each pulley 21 by a screw clamp 36. The cable ends are passed around and secured to a control pulley 23 which has bevel toothings to engage a bevel wheel 40 on a sleeve 41 splined to receive a control shaft. The control shaft may be operated by a thermometric device. Specification 496,017 and U.S.A. Specifications 1,846,863, 1,892,303 and 1,989,413 are referred to.
