Abstract

330,405. Stott, O., and Matthews & Yates, Ltd. June 11, 1929. Density separators. - Gases are cleansed from dust and grit by passage through a curved track in the casing a; the track is divided by curved division plates b and liquid sprays c are placed at the entrance to the curved paths thus formed. The moistened grit clings to the plates b until it gravitates to the sump d. Additional sprays e may be provided if desired. The curved track may form a continuation of a fan delivery volute, or, as shown in Fig. 2, the curved track imparts a rotary motion to the gas before it enters the eye f of the fan g. Specification 324,204, [Class 123 (iii), Steam separators &c.], is referred to.
