Abstract
607,332. Grease interceptors. JOSAM MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 30. 1946. No. 3000. Convention date, July 19,1945. [Class 33] A grease interceptor comprises a closed top chamber having an outlet conduit leading from the bottom to an opening below the top of the chamber and an air passageway leading from the upper portion of the chamber to the conduit, the said air passageway having a liquid trap disposed above the normal level of liquid in the chamber. As shown, a closed top. chamber 6 has an inlet 7 for grease laden liquid, baffles 18 and strips 16 to assist in. separating grease from liquid and a conduit 12 leading from a discharge opening 10 to a sewer connection 14. An outlet 30 in the upper portion of the chamber allows air to escape by way of a passage 31, a liquid trap 32 and an outlet 34 to the sewer connection 14 above the normal level of liquid A. Water may be supplied to the liquid trap 32 through a connection 36 from an outside source, and a plugged inspection and cleaning aperture 37 above the liquid trap may also be provided.
