Abstract

783,256. Centrifugal separators. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR. May 7, 1956 [Sept. 22, 1955], No. 14050/56. Class 23 In a separator comprising a rotor 5 enclosing conical liners 3, 4, liquid from the inner edges of the liners is led to a chamber 12 having means for discharge of liquid from the rotor. As shown the discharge means is a skimming device 21, but the means may comprise a duct leading from the chamber to an overflow outlet. Liquid to be separated enters the chamber through the inlet 1 and passes between the liners to the separating chamber 7. Sludge is discharged through outlets 6. Some of the sludge, or an auxiliary liquid, passes through a bore 24, chamber 25, and tubes 26 to discharge into the separating chamber adjacent the outlets 6. When the rotor is stopped liquid drains through outlets 19.
