Abstract

885,535. Centrifugal separators. DOULTON & CO. Ltd. June 30, 1960 [May 11, 1959; Sept. 8, 1959], Nos. 16108/59 and 30687/59. Class 23. Apparatus for separating fluids comprises an annular inlet chamber 4 divided from a separating chamber 20 by a partition 12, the chambers being connected by drain holes 16 and helically arranged ducts 17. The air separator shown has a ceramic filter 6 having a resilient mounting flange 6a, and separating the chamber 20 and the outlet chamber 5. The chamber 20 has an automatic draining device or a drain cock 11 shielded by a screen 9. The first Provisional Specification discloses apparatus for separating liquid from gas, which dispenses with the partition and has an internal tangential inlet.
