Abstract

917,274. Gas filters. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. June 8, 1959 [June 17, 1958], No. 19397/58. Class 8(2). An air filter comprises a casing 1 having inlet and outlet openings 7, 5 at opposite ends between which is located at least one filter unit having inner and outer walls 12, 13 between which extends a filter element 14 comprising a radially pleated paper disc; the unit being covered by a member 16 extending over one end of the walls 12, 13 and facing the air inlet 7 thereby forming an annular space 17 with the casing wall through which dustladen air passes before entering the filter unit. Preliminary separation is affected by an annular baffle 20 and a flange ring 21 which serve to deflect the larger particles through openings 22 in the casing wall. Two filter units are arranged in parallel.
