Abstract

An annular air filter comprises a rectangular lamina folded longitudinally and pleated, the ends being joined together to form a round flat filter with large surface area to volume ratio, narrow at its external circumference with a wide internal zone sealing into a perforated gauze cylinder housed airtight between two flat sheels fitted with a plurality of inlet vents. Raw air is purified at the exterior filter surface and passes via the gauze cylinder to an axial outlet duct and thence to the air utilisation point. Vibrations occuring at the installation effectively declog the filter surface.
