Abstract

748,901. Air filters. SPOONER, W. W. May 5, 1954 [May 21, 1953], No. 14246/53. Class 8(2). To assist withdrawal of a flat filter 2 from a housing 1 having a suction outlet 11 the filter comprises a plurality of gauze panels 2a, 2b, 2c hinged together in series at adjacent edges of gauze supporting frames 7. The panels run in guides 4, 5 and are withdrawn through a housing slot 12 and gaps between adjacent hinged panels are masked by flaps 10. A second flat filter 3 is similarly mounted in series with the filter 2 whereby air filtering is maintained whilst one or other filter is removed from the housing 1.
