Abstract

1382910 Silencers TRANE CO 1 Nov 1972 [1 Nov 1971] 50431/72 Heading F1B [Also in Division F4] Ventilating air is brought to a room by a ceiling unit having an air-receiving portion 11 having an air inlet 13 and an air outlet 17 and containing a rotary damper 25 to vary the volume of air passing through, and perforated baffles 22, 26 on each side of the damper. The air is discharged into the room through a diffuser 12 having outlet slots 18 directing the air across the ceiling. A third baffle 30 may be provided in the outlet 17. Other shapes of baffle 26 are described Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) layers of sound-absorbing material 15 are applied to the inside surfaces.
