Abstract

1340955 Vacuum cleaners GOBLIN (B. V. C.) Ltd 14 June 1972 [14 June 1971] 27742/71 Heading A4F (Also in Division B1) A cylinder-type vacuum cleaner comprising a cylindrical closure cap 18 detachably secured to the outlet end of a cleaner body 1 is provided with a replaceable filter element 15 comprising a pleated paper filter 16 mounted in the cap so that exhaust air from the cleaner body 1 enters the cap axially and escapes therefrom radially through the filter 16 and through perforations 19 in the circumferential wall of the cap. The cleaner body 1 may house a motor 5 mounted between support plates 4 and 10 by pads 8, 13, and the cap 18 may be releasably secured to the body 1 by pivoted catches 20 so that the filter element 15 which is cylindrical is sandwiched by rubber locating pads 17 between the support plate 4 and the end wall of the cap. A sealing ring 22 may be provided between the body 1 and cap 18, exhaust apertures 14 are provided in the plate 4, and the plates 4, 10 may be secured together by threaded fasteners 9, 11, 12.
