Abstract

786,365. Suction cleaner filter bags. HOOVER, Ltd. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 13, 1954], No. 27954/55. Classes 8(1) and 8(2). The air inlet opening 36, Fig. 4, in a generally flat wall 31 of a suction cleaner filter bag 10 is surrounded by an area of adhesive 38 of the pressure sensitive type whereby a cover strip 44 may be detachably secured over said opening 36. On opening a pivoted end cap 17, Fig. 1, of a cylindrical casing 11 and introducing a fresh bag 10 which may be of paper through an aperture 16, the margin 33 of the wall 31 of relatively stiff material abuts an annular casing flange 15 with the peeled off portion of the strip 44 assuming the position 48. On closing the end cap 17 housing inner and outer walls 19, 20 connected by a socket 24, a socket extension 22 projects through the bag inlet 36 and a sealing ring 47 carried by the inner cap wall 19 abuts the tacky surface provided by the adhesive covered area 38.
