Abstract

1348817 Suction cleaners ELECTROLUX Ltd 1 Dec 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 55738/71 Heading A4F [Also in Division B1/2] A disposable paper dust bag 19 for a vacuum cleaner has two plates 20 and 21 of cardboard or plastics secured thereto, plate 20 having an aperture 22 aligning with the inlet nozzle 12 of the cleaner while plate 21 is imperforate and serves to close the opening (13) at the top of the cleaner casing through which the bag is inserted. Plate 20 may have an external handle and may be hinged relative to plate 21 so that the plates may be folded together to retain dust when the bag is withdrawn. The plates may be integral or connected by a hinge wire. Plate 20 slides into guides 24 on the outer wall or on an intermediate wall 25 of the casing, while plate 21 abuts and seals on a peripheral ledge 26, the internal suction created by the cleaner fan maintaining the seal. The casing may have a lever to raise plate 21 from ledge 26. Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) represent the vacuum cleaner and dust bag separately.
