Abstract
915,865. Suction cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. March 26, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 10571/59. Classes 8(1) and 8(2). A suction cleaner comprises a casing 10 formed at one end with a part 10a, of greater dimensions, to form an outwardly directed shoulder. The open end of a reticulated member 55, adapted to receive and support a paper dust bag 23, has a radially outwardly projecting flange 55a which abuts the shoulder of the casing. The member 55 is clamped in position by an end ring 22 formed with a circumferential groove 53 and seal 54 which receives the part 10a of the casing. The ring 22 is secured to the casing 10 and carries an end cover pivoted to it in the manner described in Specification 915,864. The dust bag 23 is provided with a cover 23a, which may be made from stiff cardboard, having a central aperture closed by a thin membrane 61 formed by split or overlapping parts which spread apart when a tube 58, formed on the end cover, projects through the aperture. The tube 58 also carries a gasket 60 formed with a flared portion 60a which seals with the cover 23a and urges this cover against a gasket 57.
