858,370. Hose couplings. BLIK ELECTRISCHE APPARATEN-EN METAALWARENFABRIEKEN N.V., R. Oct. 15, 1958 [Oct. 19, 1957], No. 32897/58. Class 99(1). A bayonet coupling for securing a hose to the end cap of a vacuum cleaner comprises a coupling part 9 of resilient material for attachment to the hose and having radial projections 12 for co -operation with flanges 4 provided within the bore of a coupling part 2, each flange having a cam-like surface rising from each end thereof to a peak situated between one end and a point mid-way between the ends, and an abutment 8 disposed at one of the ends for engagement by the projections 12 to maintain the parts 2, 9 coupled together upon relative rotation of the parts.
