Abstract

1,059,678. Vacuum cleaner nozzles. ETABLISSEMENTS GEORGES OLIVIER. Nov. 3, 1965 [Nov. 3, 1964], No. 46582/65. Heading A4F. A vacuum cleaner nozzle comprises two detachable parts, one of which comprises a tubular connector 3 for attachment to the cleaner and the other of which comprises a housing 5 having a ground-engaging base 2 provided with an aperture 4 which is connected to an aperture in the rear of the housing 5 by an elbow-shaped duct, the connector 3 being so provided at its free end with an outwardly extending annular bead 6 and the duct being so shaped that when the connector 3 is fitted to the housing 5 by engaging a portion of the bead 6 in a groove 8 in the duct, the tubular connector 3 is rotatable about its axis and the axis of the connector 3 is rotatable with respect to the housing 5. The bead 6 is provided with a sealing ring, and a sliding shoe 9 (Fig. 4, not shown) having integral thread-collecting teeth (14) is provided on the base (2) which is provided with partitions (10) to form suction channels (11) within a chamber (12) having a maximum height in the vicinity of the aperture 4.
