Abstract

1,122,619. Suction cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. 6 June, 1966 [16 June, 1965], No. 25098/66. Heading A4F. A connection piece 2 for a hose at the front end of a suction cleaner is connected by toothed gearing as shown, or by a link, belt, and/or chain system to a castor 5, 17 mounted on a vertical axle 15, so that as the connection piece 2 is turned about a vertical axis the castor 5, 17 is also turned. When the castor is mounted at the front of the cleaner as shown it is turned in the same direction as the connection piece 2, but when mounted at the rear end, as in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), it is turned by chain gearing having crossed runs in a direction opposite to that of the turning of the connection piece 2.
