Abstract
698,360. Suction cleaner filter bags. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. May 4, 1951 [May 19, 1950], No. 10487/51. Class 8 (ii). In a suction cleaner of the inside dust bag type having a protective textile bag 12 or the like carried by a ring 14 and enclosing a paper filter bag 13 secured around a suction opening 16 formed in a removable cover 11, the filter bag neck is held in position by a bridge-like member 18 arranged transversely across the mouth of the bag 12 with its ends abutting the carrying ring 14 and by an annular member e.g. a spring-,loaded sleeve 22 disposed centrally of the bridge 18 through which the folded neck of the filter bag 13 is inserted; the latter having its edge 27 bent outwardly over a rubber sealing ring 25 so as to be pressed against the inside of the cover 11. The bridge 18 comprises a spring metal strip having flanges 19 abutting the ring 14, and a central opening 21 accommodating the spring-loaded sleeve 22. In a modification the holder comprises a metal strip formed at its ends with spring-biased pins insertable in bearing lugs on the inner face of the ring 14, and in a further modification the holder is formed entirely of resilient strips thus eliminating the spring-loaded sleeve 22.
