Abstract
373,661. Centrifugal gas cleaners. CORNER, G. H. C., POSTLETHWAITE, F., McGINN, J., Norton Hall, The Green, Norton-on-Tees, and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Millbank, London. Feb. 2, 1931, No. 3312. [Class 23.] Solid or liquid particles are separated from a gas by passage through a tube 1 forming a helix with a horizontal axis. The particles are thrown to the outer circumference and pass through the connections 4 to the main drain 5. The apparatus may be used as a steam separator. In a modification two helical tubes are used ; they are built up of units flanged and bolted to a plate through which pass drains for the separated particles.
