Abstract

382,895. Centrifugal separators. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleming- gatan, Stockholm. May 11,1932, No. 13570. Convention date, May 31, 1931. [Class 23.] A centrifugal bowl 1 for cleaning liquids has a number of cylindrical partitions 81, 9, 82 provided with ring or spiral wings 12, 13 to prevent separated impurities from moving axially. The liquid for treatment enters the drum by the axial tube 11 and travels in opposite directions through successive chambers formed by the partitions. In the left-hand side of the Figure, rings 12 are shown on the inner surfaces of the partitions 9, 8<2> to hold the separated heavy impurities. Where both light and heavy impurities are separated rings 13 are also placed on the outside of the partitions, as shown in the right-hand side of the Figure. The rings 12, 13 are spaced apart axially so as to cause no obstruction to the flow of liquid.
