Abstract
401,630. Centrifugal machines. SAINT-JACQUES, E. C., 11, Rue Marbeau, Paris. Aug. 14, 1933, No. 22718. Convention date, Aug. 13, 1932. Addition to 367,194. [Class 23.] A separator of the type described in the parent Specification and in Specification 367,196 is modified by the tangential entry of additional air under pressure through the pipe 12. The separator has a cylindrical body 1 with upper and lower truncated cones 2, 3 and a lower exterior wall 14. The fluid containing solid particles enters by the pipe 6 and whirls downwards. The additional air supply from the pipe 12 whirls downwards in the same direction as the main stream between the cone 3 and the wall 14, and cuts the fan shaped discharge a from the cone 3. The gas with entrained light particles from the upper part of the apparatus may be passed through a cyclone separator, and the clean air from that separator supplied to the pipe 12.
