Abstract

711,304. Centrifugal-separators. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN. Jan. 9, 1952 [Feb. 23, 1951], No. 714/52. Class 23 A cylindrical dust separator comprising an inlet 1 having whirl producing means 2, a gas outlet 11, having whirl removing means 10, a restricted passage formed by parts 6a, 6b, 6c and a baffle 8 spaced from the part 6c to form a dust collecting chamber 12 has a. cyclone separator connected to the chamber 12 and delivering cleaned gas to the interior of the separator at 19. In a modification the whirl producing means include a tangential inlet. In a further. modification (Fig. 4, not shown) the. part 6a is replaced by a bell mouth having an annular passage leading to a collection chamber for coarse particles formed between the part 6 and the body. The coarse dust and the dust from the chamber 12 is discharged by a common outlet to the cyclone. The whirl removing means is a propeller.
