885,344. Centrifugal separators. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., ERNEST, and HOWORTH & CO., JAMES. Oct. 14, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 36330/59. Class 23. A separator for removing waste material from an air stream has a separating chamber 13, an aperture 18 for the discharge of air, and a filter 19, 20 covering the aperture. The filter comprises an expanded metal cone covered by a filter cloth. Air to be cleaned enters the chamber through pipes 11, and is whirled by air entering the chamber by tangential pipes 22, 23. The flow of air being induced by an extractor fan 14. The pipes may be connected to a textile machine. In a modification the air and waste material enter the chamber by tangential pipes.
