Abstract

471,995. Treating sewage. TUBE D'ACIER, and GANDILLON, R. May 19, 1936, No. 14153. Convention date, July 22, 1935. [Class 111] Sewage before it reaches the sewer is subjected to a vigorous mixing, stirring or bubbling action by means of air or other oxidizing gas or vapour, the air and sewage gases subsequently passing with the sewage through the sewer. The Figure shows a tank 1 with sewage inlet 2 and an outlet 3 through which the sewage is discharged to the sewer under suction. Air, with or without other oxidizing agent, enters through a pipe 5, either from the atmosphere or under pressure.
