Treating liquids with gases.-In an apparatus provided with means for permeating a liquid with gas as described in the parent Specification, the liquid and gas are passed in counter current through a vessel 1 prior to the admission of the liquid to an irradiation apparatus 9. The liquid is sprayed into the vessel 1 through a pipe 3 and the gas is admitted through a pipe 6. Baffle devices 10 may be arranged in the vessel.
