Abstract

314,842. Gordon, K., and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd. April 11, 1928. Washing processes; purifier waste, revivefying. -In freeing gases from carbon dioxide by wash. ing under pressure, water free from oxygen is used and after removing the dissolved gases by releasing the pressure in stages, the last stage being below atmospheric, the water is used again without aeration. The bulk of the carbon dioxide is released at ordinary pressures and collected separately, and the pressure then reduced to <1>/5 atmospheric to expel remaining gases, e.g. hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, the liquid being preferably heated or agitated meanwhile. Specification 311,299, [Class 90, Non-metallic elements], is referred to.
