Mineral and tar oils, purifying.-Dry-cleaning or other liquid solvents are cleansed by passing through a caustic solution, then through water or an aqueous working solution to remove caustic, and finally over calcium chloride or other solid dehydrating agent. Activated charcoal, potash, or similar cleanser may be floated or otherwise held on or over the caustic solution. Suitable apparatus is described in Specification 334,208.
