Abstract

404,210. Gas washers. HUMBOLDTDEUTZMOTOREN AKT.-GES., 161, Kalker Hauptstrasse, Kalk, Cologne, Germany. June 19, 1933, No. 17485. Convention date, June 18, 1932. [Class 55 (ii).] A gas-washing tower comprises an inner removable tube g having sieve plates o through which water from a nozzle e and gas from an inlet b continually flow, surrounded by a jacket a wherein the gas is dried and freed from remaining impurities. Large particles in the gas are retained by a sieve k and the purification is increased by forcing the gas through a nozzle n on to the water surface in a collector f. The jacket a is provided with sieve plates u which are supported, together with the nozzle u, by pins t attached to the inner tube.
