Abstract

492,978. Washing gases. SIMONCARVES, Ltd., and ADAMS, V. H. May 5, 1937, No. 12803. [Class 55 (ii)] Apparatus for removing dust &c. from gases discharged from boilers, furnaces, &c. comprises a chamber 1 through which the gases pass from an inlet 8 to an outlet 9, a number of horizontal porous tubes 4 supplied with water under pressure, and an outlet 3 at the base for drawing off liquid. Baffles 10 direct the gas initially downwards. The tubes may be of canvas or porous earthenware with a perforated central tube 5, each having a regulating cock. The chamber itself may be lined with pervious material and supplied in sections with liquid.
