Abstract

Gases, treating with liquids. -Apparatus for cleaning gases s comprises a vertical zig-zag tube 3 of substantially rectangular crosssection, provided with inlets 1, 2 at the upper end thereof for the gas t o b e cleaned a n d water respectively, and an outlet 5 at the lower end for the cleaned gas, the water with the impurities being deposited into a tank 6 also at the lower end. The tube is provided with cleaning dampers 4, while the sides of the pipe at the more acute bends 7 are covered inwardly so that the pipe is thus strengthened and the falling contents are better spread.
