Abstract

299,075. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.).. June 20, 1927. Scrubbers and washers. -A gas washer comprises one or more spiral surfaces arranged within a tower and inclined downwards towards the axis. The surfaces 1, 2, may be curved or not in a radial direction, and subdivided into strips or corrugated; or the surfaces may be subdivided into overlapping sectors, and carry metal strips to divert liquid from the wall of the tower; perforated sectors may be used, and the working temperature may be regulated by means of pipe coils.
