Abstract
370,296. Type-bar-making machines. INTERTYPE CORPORATION, 360, Furman Street, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. July 30, 1931, No. 21773. Convention date, Aug. 29, 1930. [Class 100 (iii).] Moulds.-In moulds in which the cap is held down by spring pressure during the casting, the pressure is applied by the movement of the metal-pot. On the mould-cap 2, Fig. 4, rests a plate 8, which carries a light spring 9, Fig. 2, bearing upon the cap. During the casting, the plate 8 is pressed down by a bolt 12, which is engaged by the short arm of a lever 14, the other arm of which carries a roller 19 resting upon the cover of the metal-pot 5. The lever 14 has a slot engaging a pivot pin 15, and is pressed against the pin by a spring 18. The forward movement of the pot causes the lever 14 to depress the plate 8 and clamp the mould.-cap. At other times the cap is held down lightly by the spring 9.
