Abstract

In a process for improving cobalt molybdenum alloys containing 10-35 per cent of molybdenum, the alloys are rapidly cooled from a temperature above 1000 DEG C. and then annealed at 500-900 DEG C. In an example, an alloy containing 25 per cent of molybdenum is quenched from 1200 DEG C. and annealed for one hour at 800 DEG C. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3)(a) states that the alloys may contain up to 40 per cent of one or more of the elements, aluminium, copper, chromium, iron, manganese, and nickel. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
