Abstract

In a process for increasing the tensile strength properties of steel containing 0,4-5,0 per cent of copper and up to 0,4 per cent of carbon, the steel is shaped at a temperature below 600 DEG C. and is then annealed at a temperature of 350-600 DEG C. The steel may also contain up to 2 per cent of austenite formers such as silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten, and cobalt.
