Abstract
Articles adapted to resist wear, made from steel containing double carbide formers, such as manganese, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, or vanadium, in such large quantity that the carbon content is less than 0.89 per cent and their structure exclusively lamellar perlitic, are shaped finally at a temperature of under 850 DEG C. The steel may contain 0.6 to 0.8 per cent of manganese 0.35 to 0.8 per cent of silicon, 6 to 7 per cent of nickel, or 1.5 per cent of copper.
