Abstract

Steels low in carbon, and steels containing not more than a total of 6 per cent of chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, nickel, copper, manganese, cobalt, titanium, vanadium, aluminium, boron, silicon, cerium, uranium, and tantalum, contain at least 0,25 per cent of sulphur; more highly alloyed steels, and steels containing over 0,6 per cent of carbon, contain over 0,22 per cent of sulphur. A number of examples containing specified proportions of carbon, phosphorus, silicon, sulphur, manganese, chromium, nickel, tungsten, and vanadium, are described.
