Abstract
440,894. Alloys. KRUPP AKT.-GES., F., Essen, Germany. July 10, 1934, No. 20286. Convention date, July 20,1933. [Class 82 (i)] Constructional parts that have to be welded, such as pressure containers, especially steam boilers, and parts of vehicles, particularly aircraft, are made from non- hardening non-austenitic steels containing not more than 0À25 per cent of carbon and 2-10 per cent of manganese, the minimum manganese content for a given carbon content being at least that shown on the diagram. The alloys may contain also one or more of the elements nickel, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, silicon, and copper, the total of such elements and the manganese together not exceeding 15 per cent. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also alloys containing specified ranges of one or more of the elements nickel, chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, silicon, and copper, alternatively to manganese. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
