Abstract
A welding-rod made from a ductile alloy, steel containing chromium, carbon, niobium, and silicon as described in the parent Specification contains 2-30 per cent of chromium, 0,01-0,5 per cent of carbon, 0,1-5 per cent of niobium, and 0,7-2,5 per cent of silicon, the niobium being at least four times and preferably ten times the carbon content. In a modification an alloy steel or welding rod made therefrom contains 12-30 per cent of chromium, 5-30 per cent of nickel, 0,01-0,5 per cent of carbon, 0,1-5 per cent of niobium, and 0,7-2,5 per cent of silicon, the niobium being at least four times and preferably ten times the carbon content. In either case the silicon is preferably 1 per cent and the carbon 0,3 per cent. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the silicon content may be 0,5-2,5 per cent and that the alloy steel may contain 2-30 per cent of chromium, together with 5-30 per cent of nickel. It also comprises the subject-matter of Specifications 459,366, 459,367, and 463,617. This does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
