Abstract

Alloys for permanent magnets consist of 15-55 per cent of cobalt, 40-80 per cent of iron, and a total of 5-20 per cent of one or more of the following metals: tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, manganese, vanadium, beryllium, and aluminium. The alloys contain less than 0,2 per cent of carbon, and may contain up to 2 per cent of nickel and 5 per cent of silicon. The alloys are quenched from over 800 DEG C. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 118,601, 118,602, [both in Class 72, Iron &c.], and 373,690.
