517,545. Steel and steel alloys. KOHLEUND EISENFORSCHUNG GES. July 29, 1938, No. 22541. Convention date, Oct. 7, 1937. [Class 82 (i)] Railway rails, wheel rims, sheet piling and other articles subjected to heavy wear are made from basic steel containing 0.16-0.25 per cent. of carbon, 0.9-1.6 per cent. of manganese, 0.08-0.25 per cent. of phosphorus, and 0.6-2.5 per cent. of silicon, with or without up to 1 per cent. of copper or up to 0.5 per cent. of chromium, or both.
