Abstract

298,118. Ellis, G. B., (Granular Iron Co.). April 2, 1927. Alloys.-In the manufacture of rail steel iron produced as described in Specification 284,040, [Class 72, Iron &c.], is melted in known manner and carbon and manganese are worked into the charge in such proportions that the finished steel contains 0.6-0.9 per cent of carbon and 0.7-1.25 per cent of manganese.
