Abstract
The process in the parent Specification is applied to stainless chromium or nickel-chromium alloys such as those containing 6-40 per cent of chromium, 25-0,5 of nickel and up to 0,5 of carbon. The alloys may contain also up to 5 per cent of silicon. Manganese, tungsten molybdenum, vanadium or cobalt. In an example, an alloy containing 17 per cent of chromium, 8 of nickel, 0,15 of carbon and 0,55 of boron is quenched from 1200 DEG C. and tempered at 800 DEG C.
