Abstract
367,904. Spray carburetters. TONDEUR, R., 25, Denbigh Terrace, and BOWDEN WIRE, Ltd., Bowden Works, Victoria Road, Willesden Junction, both in London. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35859. [Class 7 (iii).] To minimize variations of fuel supply due to centrifugal and inertia forces, a reserve chamber 2 is provided alongside the main nozzle 11 and opposite the float chamber 1, the passage connecting the float and reserve chambers being restricted at the float-chamber end, as at 9, or at both ends. The reserve chamber communicates at 6 with the atmosphere and, through a tube 23, with a chamber 13 which is in communication through ducts 14, 16 with a pilot nozzle 7. After this nozzle has gone out of action air entering at 21 reaches orifices 17 and prevents the formation of a too rich mixture, and atomizes the fuel issuing from the restricted orifice 9. The restrictions in the communicating passage may be removable and adjustable. The Specification gives suitable capacities of the reserve chamber and diameters of the communicating passage and restrictions therein for certain diameters of choke tube.
