Abstract

364,396. Door latches. FREEMAN, C. H., The Bungalow, Trysale Road, Merry Hill, Wolverhampton. Feb. 17, 1931, No. 4946. [Class 44.] The spindle 13 of a mortise latch handle is locked against rotation by a sliding bolt 6 having a bifurcated end 12 adapted to embrace the spindle. Member 6 is guided in a recess in a housing 5 surrounding the spindle and attached to the face of the door, and is oper- .ated by a finger-piece 8 working in a slot 10. An internal plate spring, not shown, provides friction to retain member 6 against accidental movement.
