Abstract

Knobs and handles, attaching.-In a fastening device for the knobs or handles of door locks &c. of the kind in which one or both of the handles have a bayonet-joint connection with their rosettes, the rosette k provides a substantial bearing for the hub o by the handle f, which hub has a circular groove p about the middle of its length engaging oppositely projecting lugs n at about the middle of the bore of the rosette and two opposite flats q, q, Fig. 3, to pass the lugs n when assembling. This arrangement provides a bearing at both sides of the groove in the hub. When used in connection with rim-locks the inner handle d is fixed to the spindle g and is secured by a pin h, in a transverse hole in the spindle. arranged to abut against a washer i at the back of the rim lock a. The rosette k is inserted on the hub o, turned through an angle of 90‹ and fastened to the door. When used in connection with mortise locks both handles are attached by their rosettes and the rosettes are secured by means of two common bolts arranged on diametrically-opposite corners of the rosettes.
