Abstract
363,975. Wire and ribbon resistances. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Gelinas, W. F. ; P.O. Box 21, Berkshire, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) July 31, 1931, No. 21911. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1930. [Class 37.] In sheathed electric heaters of low resistance, the conductors forming sinuous heating elements are of oblong section to prevent damage to the sheaths which would occur during rolling, with less flexible conductors. The elements 11, with terminal pieces 13 swaged on their ends, are enclosed in a sheath 10 packed with powdered or granular electrically insulating material. The latter is compressed by rolling, the conductors yielding to the pressure and preventing damage to the sheath. Specification 144,767, [Class 37, Electricity, Measuring &c.], is referred to.
