Abstract

329,478. Wade, H., (Moffats, Ltd.). April 22, 1929. Wire resistances, enclosed, threaded.-Insulating supports 11 for a pair of resistance wires 9, 10 are assembled in two intercommunicating grooves formed in a sheet metal cover plate 1. Two such coverplates may enclose the resistance, or one only ,may be used in conjunction with a lower moulded slab of insulating material when a single-faced heating element is to be made. The cover-plates are preferably of heat-resisting alloy such as nickel-chromium and the grooves formed therein are separated by a rib 5 which is an incomplete annulus.
