Abstract
160,348. Joseph, G. F. Feb. 10, 1920. Wire and ribbon resistances, mounted on flat or curved surfaces. - The resistance element of an electric heater consists of wire coils 2 located in wedge-shaped grooves formed by undercut ribs 3 on a base 1. The ribs may be integral with the base or connected thereto by screws &c. The base may be in longitudinal sections, each carrying one rib, or as shown in Fig. 4, the sections may be annular and threaded on a rod, each section having an external undercut rib 3 extending partly round its periphery.
