Abstract

214,058. Benham & Sons, Ltd., and Barrett, N. C. March 9, 1923. Wire resistances, mounted on flat, curved, or grooved surfaces.-A heating element for a grill &c. of the kind comprising a number of sections carrying resistance wire transversely of the sections is provided with mutually engaging tongues and recesses on the sections to keep them in position. Fig. 5 shows two of the sections with the tongues and recesses b, c. Fig. 2 shows a complete heater with the sections mounted on rods e. Bars g carrying fixing lugs i and terminals i are also mounted on the rods e. The resistance wire is threaded through slots in ribs l projecting from the sections and rests in depressions formed in a second series of ribs m. The surfaces of the sections between the ribs may be flat or curved as shown in Fig. 5. z
