Abstract

249,414. Benham & Sons, Ltd., Barrett, N. C., and Davis, T. W. Sept. 26, 1926. Ribbon resistances, enclosed and mounted on flat surfaces.-In an electric heater of the type comprising resistances mounted on a flat or cruciform bar enclosed in a tube, the resistance elements are of strip form arranged longitudinally of the bar. In the form shown, the resistance elemenss e are mounted on posts on a flat bar d, secured at one end to a cap b closing the tube and supported at the other by a bracket g. The bar is also supported by screwed distancepieces h secured by lock-nuts i. Holes m in the bar d allow heat to be radiated through it. In a modification the elements are mounted in slots in the bar d.
