Abstract

335,354. Crossley, J. H., and Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. Sept. 3, 1929. Heating by electricity. - An electrical immersion heater consists of two or more heating elements each of which is enclosed in a metal tube which is bent into hairpin shape and twisted into a double helix; the different helices thus formed are screwed together to produce a multiple helix. In the arrangement shown two such elements are secured to a block 3 having a screw thread 4. The block 3 carries an insulating block 6 on which are mounted terminals 14 for the leads from the resistance elements and the outside leads.
